Belinda Cornish is a multifaceted artist whose career spans acting, playwriting, and improvisation. She is also an accomplished voice actor, lending her talents to numerous characters in BioWare’s acclaimed video game series, Mass Effect and Dragon Age. On screen, she appeared in the comedy series Tiny Plastic Men (Amazon Prime), a role that earned her an AMPIA Award, along with nominations for the Canadian Comedy Award and Canadian Screen Award. Her sharp wit and versatility make her a standout performer across multiple mediums.

As a playwright, Cornish has achieved critical and commercial success. Her award-winning play Category E garnered five Sterling Awards, including Best New Play, for its gripping exploration of an animal testing facility. Another notable work is her stage adaptation of Todd Babiak’s best-selling novel The Garneau Block, which debuted at the Citadel Theatre to widespread acclaim. Cornish’s ability to weave complex, thought-provoking narratives has cemented her reputation as a playwright of significant impact.

In the realm of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), Cornish’s journey began with live-action Call of Cthulhu adventures, where she once fled through the Black Mountains from a life-sized Dark Young—an experience that solidified her love for RPGs. Her role-playing prowess extends to her collaborations with fellow performer and Dungeon Master Mark Meer. As a regular NPC in Meer’s campaigns, Cornish delights in creating unforgettable, often terrifying, characters that challenge players. Together, they co-authored original Call of Cthulhu adventures such as No Man’s Land and The Bookshops of Arkham, enhancing the immersive and eerie experience of this classic RPG.

Cornish also plays a significant role in Edmonton’s vibrant theatre scene as the co-Artistic Director of Teatro Live!, a company dedicated to producing compelling and innovative theatrical works. Beyond the stage, she dedicates her time to WILDNorth Rescue, a nonprofit organization focused on rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife. Her volunteer work reflects her deep compassion and commitment to the community.

Belinda Cornish’s creative journey exemplifies her dedication to storytelling, whether through the nuanced performances she delivers, the compelling plays she writes, or the immersive game narratives she helps craft. Her diverse talents and contributions continue to leave an indelible mark on the arts and gaming communities alike.
